# National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG) / Κρατικό Θέατρο Βορείου Ελλάδος (ΚΘΒΕ) > The National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG / ΚΘΒΕ) is one of the largest theatre organisations in Greece. Based in Thessaloniki, it has been providing a stable framework for the promotion of theatre art and theatre artists since 1961. It operates five winter stages and two open-air theatres, and its mission encompasses productions, co-productions, touring, education, and international collaboration. The NTNG is a non-profit private-law legal entity supervised and funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
