# CADProps
> CADProps is a fast, free online CAD viewer for parts and assemblies, with STEP measurement and support for multiple CAD formats. No desktop CAD installation is required.
A feature-rich online CAD workspace brings viewing, measurement, model properties, assembly inspection, comparison, conversion and sharing together in one place.
CADProps helps mechanical engineers, CNC machinists and manufacturing suppliers inspect STEP/STP and other supported CAD files online. Use it to check part dimensions, review loaded assembly components and estimate material weight before CNC quotations and supplier handoffs.
Key capabilities include:
- Open STEP/STP files and inspect 3D geometry in a browser.
- Measure X/Y/Z dimensions, distances and supported geometric features; switch between metric and imperial display units.
- Calculate volume and surface area, and estimate weight using your chosen material density.
- Inspect supported assemblies and individual bodies with component selection, visibility controls, section views and exploded views.
- Compare CAD models visually; STEP pairs also support solid-difference analysis.
- Export model properties as CSV and download validated format conversions.
